The State Board of Education adopted eight recommendations for the 85th session of the Texas Legislature. In 1948, the Colorado State Constitution was amended to authorize an elected State Board of Education to provide general supervision of public schools, with powers and duties described throughout Title 22 of the Colorado Revised Statutes The first Colorado State Board of Education was elected in November 1950 and began its work in January 1951.
An individual wishing to address the Board of Education and needing more than the three minutes, should make his/her request to the Superintendent at least seven days before the regular meeting so that an appropriate length of time (no more than 15 minutes) may be indicated on the agenda.
