Clayco completed construction on this major distribution center for Pearson Education, the world’s largest education company and the global leader in online learning. Pearson would like to become education’s first major conglomerate, serving as the largest private provider of standardized tests, software, materials, and now the schools themselves. At Rutgers University in New Jersey, for instance, Pearson is in charge of recruiting students to online degree programs and counseling them so they stay engaged and enrolled.
But several top executives said they always work toward deals that benefit not just the company but its public-sector partners — and above all, the millions of students who use Pearson products daily. Pearson allocated the fund an initial $15 million in 2012 and another $50 million in January 2015.
