Whether you are interested in bringing students to the Byrnes Health Education Center for a visit, having an educator visit your classroom, learning about health as a family, or participating with your community group, you can be sure it will be an exciting program with our fun interactive programs! The student will design a health education campaign using the modern and traditional methods of communication to deliver culturally appropriate, effective health education of public health importance. Health educators do community organizing and outreach, grant writing, coalition building, advocacy, and develop, produce, and evaluate mass media health campaigns. Fourth, this is a splendid way to cleanse orthodox religious believers, Hippocratic Oath-accepting doctors, and pro-lifers from the health professions-and dissuade those holding such beliefs from becoming physicians, nurses, and pharmacists.
Keynote presentations will be delivered by Dr. Kimberly A. Johnson , Director for Substance Abuse Treatment at the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, and Dr. Tony Rousmaniere , Clinical Psychologist and editor of Using Technology to Enhance Clinical Supervision.
We also provide engaging opportunities to de-stigmatize mental illness at York, access mental health resources on and off campus and develop strategies to help students cope with the current stress of being a student and future stress of being an engaged global citizen.
Students will demonstrate the ability to practice health-enhancing behaviors and avoid or reduce health risks. They help companies meet occupational health and safety regulations, work with the media, and identify community health resources for employees. The responsibility of each Health Educator is to aspire to the highest possible standards of conduct and to encourage the ethical behavior of all those with whom they work.
