Data is confirming what we already know: recruiting is an imprecise activity, and degrees don’t communicate much about a candidate’s potential and fit. In 2015, ASU Online announced a new partnership with EdX titled the ‘ Global Freshmen Academy ‘. This program is open to all incoming freshmen; candidates do not need to formally apply for enrollment in GFA, and will only asked to pay for courses that they complete with a passing grade.
These include a B.S. in human environmental sciences with eight possible concentrations: food and nutrition; general studies; consumer sciences; family financial planning and counseling; early childhood education; child development; child life; and restaurant, hotels and meetings management.
Online offerings include undergraduate degree completion programs ranging from communication to marketing to nursing and graduate degree programs in computer information systems, creative writing, interdisciplinary studies, publishing, economic development, entrepreneurship and more.
