Welcome to the Adult and Continuing Education programs at Southern Union State Community College. The Alternate Route to teacher certification is a way college graduates can become licensed teachers without completing a traditional teacher training program. Free part-time higher education is provided in nationally prioritised fields, e.g. for teachers without a higher education.
If you see a position that appeals to you as an adult educator, take note of the required qualifications. This program for those who want to study at the graduate level but do not have the time or resources to complete a full master program.
It is everywhere apparent that universities are assuming more responsibility for the continuance and renewal of education for the highly educated. The links and information below were developed for educators and others who are directly involved with adult education.
When I fail out of high school and just at life in general I’ll have to remember to go back and read this post and find comfort in the fact that I’m not alone in my utter lack of capacity for responsibility. The lack of labs and libraries also affect the curriculum development process because without proper computer labs in cities and villages one can’t implement computer education curriculum all over the country.
Hence there are adult programs for completing high school or preparing for examinations normally taken at the end of secondary school. The Corporate Volunteer Council is credited for the Harvest House and Back to School Program. Our mission is to raise the literacy levels of adults who do not have a high school credential or adequate English language proficiency speaking and writing skills; and provide workforce readiness and development.
