The Strengths Model
The Bachelor of Science in Public Health with a concentration in Community Health Education enables students to do just that. Through your community placement (which we’ll do for you) you’ll work 600 contact hours over 15 weeks in the practice of health ‘re actually going out into the workplace to apply the knowledge you’ve studied in the classroom. Contact the health promotion advisor or one of the member organizations of the Coalition of National Health Education Organizations to learn more about health promotion.
Students will demonstrate the ability to advocate for personal, family, and community health. To set, maintain and exemplify the highest ethical principles and standards of practice on the part of all professionals and disciplines whose primary purpose is health education, disease prevention and/or health promotion.
Topics include methods of design, development, implementation, and evaluation of public health programs to improve individual and community health. To be truly integrated into the community, one would have to have relationships and resources that exist apart from the mental health system.
Let’s just remind ourselves, that as an arts and health community, we developed a shared Manifesto for Arts & Health in 2011. Students will study the structure, process, and outcomes of health services including the costs, financing, structure, outcomes, and accessibility of care.

Health Behavior and Health Education graduate programs include options for the non-thesis, the M.S. with thesis, and the Ph.D. IAS accreditation provides quality assurance to the public and other stakeholders that NCHEC’s policies and procedures comply with high international standards of practice for certifying agencies.
